Although not licensed funeral directors, these members of our team are vitally important toward the operation of our firm. These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to know and expect from us.
Reese Lewis, Funeral Director's Assistant
Reese was born and raised and currently lives with his family here in Milton. He is married to Emma, an RN on the Obstetrics Unit of the Milton District Hospital and they have 2 children. Connor is a competitive swimmer with the Milton Marlin Swim Team and Devon is a dancer with the Dance Elite School for the Arts. Reese was raised in the family of a Presbyterian minister and his family are current members of Knox Presbyterian Church on Main St. Reese volunteers on the Board of Directors for the Milton Marlin Swim Team where he is a Level 2 Official and is the Officials Chairperson for the team. When spare time allows, Reese enjoys spending time with his family and going on family trips together.
Laurie Gracey, Housekeeping and Reception
A longtime resident of Milton, Laurie has been a valued part of our staff since 2007. Her assistance with housekeeping and maintenance led to a more active role in assistance with reception, visitation and funeral services. A member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Milton, Laurie is also active in dog training and is involved in the Newfoundland Dog Club.
Daryl Horlick, Funeral Assistant
Daryl joined the J. Scott Early team in 2013 on a part time basis and enjoys the opportunity to work with families during visitation and services. Married with two grown sons, Daryl has experience working with the Hamilton Region Victim's Services Unit, in addition to his full time work in the fashion industry.
Ellen Trafford, Hairdresser
Ellen has lived in Milton since 1967 and has worked for J. Scott Early Funeral Home for more than 12 years. She is a professional hairstylist who's full time employ has been with "Danielas Place" for the past 25 years. We are fortunate to have her available to tend to the hairdressing needs of our families. In addition to her work as a hairstylist, often visiting clients in their home if needed, Ellen is also a full time Mom to Daniell and Joe.
Melissa Watt, Funeral Assistant
Having completed several semesters of Co-op education with us as part of her diploma program at Gary Allen High School, Melissa has remained a valuable part of our staff. Melissa is often seen greeting visitors at the door, and assisting on funeral services. She also provides much needed technical support at times, in the creation of video tributes and slide shows. A resident of Milton, Melissa is a proud mom to two children and enjoys spending time with her family and puttering in her garden.
Having completed her co-op education with our funeral home, Justine was accepted into the Funeral Service Education program at Humber College where she will begin her studies in September 2017 to become a funeral director. Justine continues to work with us on a part time basis to add to her practical experience. We wish her all the best in her schooling.
