Saturday, June 17, 2017So sorry to hear about your Dad's passing when we came home from a couple days away. Your Dad and Mom were always so kind to us Campbell girls and also to Mom and Dad. After Mom's passing all the visits to Dad showed him what wonderful neighbours he had bringing him home baked treats and handmade socks. The fond memories we have of your parents will always be treasured.

Tuesday, June 13, 2017Our sincere condolences to Doug, Audrey, Trish, Jim and your families on your loss. Ray and family were great neighbours to us on No. 4 Sideroad and I always remember Ray's smile when I think of him! When we lived nearby on Appleby Line, Scott spent many hours playing with Jim and one day our dog "Satan" followed Scott down the road and unfortunately ran after and killed one of Ray's geese! That was one day when Ray was not smiling but who could blame him! However being good neighbours we did not let that happen again and we were forgiven. The Powell Family going back to Ray's parents were stalwart residents of the Zimmerman Community which was a great place to grow up. We will always remember Ray as a good husband, father, grandfather and neighbour! Beth Barnes and Family

Sunday, June 11, 2017To Ray's family; It is with great sadness to learn of your Dad's passing, as I had known him since my days long ago when I lived at Zimmerman. I knew your Mum as well through the pipe bands, and especially one lovely Sunday, summer afternnon at your place, when we all got together for a picnic, a tug of war across the creek, and a few beers, as well as playing the pipes. That would have been in the very early 1960s, when a good time was about simple things that didn't cost much money, and was with genuine, good friends .As I don't get out much anymore, I hadn't seen either your Mum or your Dad for a long time, but they were both often in our minds and thoughts. Seems like everyone we knew for so long are all disappearing, as passing on has no respect for age. Please accept our heartfelt condolences and sympathy on the loss of your Dad. May he rest in peace. Most sincerely,Alan & Dolores Waters

Saturday, June 10, 2017Hello Doug, Audrey, Trish and Jim, It is so sad to hear about Ray. Way back, our families spent a lot time together. My mom and dad and Ray and Bertha visited back and for quite often. I remember being at your home on the river numerous times. I bought my first motor cycle from Don...a 65 Honda 90cc touring bike. We went Sucker fishing, Ray helped my dad build his garage ( which I think my dad had moved to the house) and there was the odd party..or two ...at our place and yours. I worked a short time at PLs and your dad was such a great guy to have on my shift. You never knew what joke was coming your way. I think his pranks are legend at Pls even today. Sad that time marches on and most of those great friends from those days are no longer with us. I'm sure my dad and Ray are busy working together sceeming on the next joke and laughing about it right now. Ray and Bertha were my mom and dad's best friends. Garnet and Jean Mitchell
