Derek Blanchard

Many battles were fought and won, but the war on cancer was lost.  Derek Blanchard, on March 16, 2018, passed away peacefully at home as was his final wish.  At only age 33, Derek, a lifetime Miltonian, lost his two year fight with colon cancer.  Derek leaves behind the loves of his life, Laticia Browne and their beautiful four year old daughter, McKinleigh Blanchard.  He is survived by his parents Pat and Larry Blanchard, his sisters Jaimee (Dan) Blanchard and Samantha Blanchard as well as his nephews Kayden and Grayson.  He was loved and adored by many extended family members of both the Blanchard and Browne families and too many friends to count.  Born, raised, lived and died in Milton, Derek was an avid sportsman having played hockey, lacrosse, volleyball and softball.  The family will receive visitors at J. SCOTT EARLY FUNERAL HOME, 21 James St., Milton (905) 878-2669 on Monday March 19, 2018 from 6 - 9 p.m.  A funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel.  Cremation to follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Derek Blanchard's Fight Against Colon Cancer fundraising page at
