Obituary of Carlo Toccalino

Toccalino, Carlo

October 17, 1926 — June 4, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Carlo Toccalino announce his passing. Surrounded by his family

Carlo passed over peacefully on June 04th 2018 at the age of 91. Carlo was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of over 68 years, Jeanette (nee Carpeneto), brother to 3, a father to 5, grandfather to 13, great-grandfather to 11. Carlo took great pride in his family and dedicated his life to them. Nature was his kingdom. He cared deeply for his forests, gardens and animals and tended to his farm with gentle hands and a pure heart. Carlo was the ground beneath his family’s feet, keeping his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren rooted and supported with his unconditional love. He took great joy in bringing people together with his love of cooking. Carlo illuminated the lives of those who knew him with his inquiring mind, bright nature and sense of humour. He touched every person he met with kindness, understanding, and grace. Carlo was a fair and just man who believed in truth, held respect for all living things, and never let a soul in need go without. As a founding member of both the St. Andrew’s Knights of Columbus (Oakville) and of the Holy Rosary Knights of Columbus (Milton) Councils and a beloved member of the community he will be remembered with great admiration for his life-long generosity and patronage.  Carlo is survived by his loving wife Jeanette, their five children, David (Monica), Anthony (Virginia), Carlo (Rodney), Mary Demarte (Bill), and Michael (Debra), grandchildren Adam, Allison, James, Peter, Angela, Zach, Sarah, Jessica, Ian, Madison, Jake, Danielle, and Lauren, and great grandchildren David, Joseph, Ivory, Roman, Memphis, Freya, Ferris, Gio, Manuel, Claire, and Alexander. Carlo is also survived by his brother John (Marilyn). He was predeceased by his sister Dena and brother Louie. Carlo will also be missed by a large and loving extended family.
