Obituary of Nick Sebalj

It is with great sadness that the family of Nick Sebalj announces his passing surrounded by family at Milton Hospital on Tuesday January 29th, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Beloved husband of Monica, and loving father of Mary and Frank.  Loving son to the late Nick and Danica and brother of the late Frank.  Survived by his brother Ed, sister-in-law Theresa and nephews; Joe and Nick and niece, Catherine.   Nick is also survived by numerous  loving cousins and friends.  Nick was the rarest of rare.  He was an accomplished professional in the field of science and was a trusted and selfless collaborator with his colleagues at Thermo Fisher Scientific.  He was a gifted communicator with a great sense of wit who appreciated the arts, especially music.  Most significantly, Nick was a generous and loyal friend who always supported others, regardless of the circumstance. We wish to thank all his friends, family, Credit Valley Oncology and Palliative Care teams, Milton Hospital and the home nursing group for the wonderful support given to us through his journey.  Our family was graced with the precious gift of Nick in our lives.  His perseverance, courage and humility were an inspiration to all who knew him.  He was a champion who will be missed dearly.  The family will receive friends from        6-9pm on Friday February 1st at J. SCOTT EARLY FUNERAL HOME, 21 James Street, Milton, Ontario (905)878-2669.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday Feb 2nd at HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 139 Martin St., Milton (Fr. Jim Petrie officiating).  Remembrance donations to Rainbows of Joy (Not-for-profit foundation in support of Autism Services)( or donations to The Guelph Giants Special Hockey Organization ( would be greatly appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be left online at
