Marion MacNab

Obituary of Marion MacNab

With gratitude for her long and lovely life, theDescription: pasted-image.jpeg family of Marion J Gastle MacNab announces her death in Whitby on Nov 1, 2019 shortly after turning 97 years of age.

Marion grew up on a one hundred acre farm on Walker’s Line, Milton.  During the war years, she trained as a Registered Nurse at Kingston General Hospital.  She married her RCAF high school sweetheart Bruce in June 1945 and they settled on The Escarpment in Milton. Their home called “NabHill” on Bell School Line became very busy with six children, much activity and lots of laughter.

Leaving Nab Hill in 2001, another happy chapter in Marion’s life began at Hearthstone by the Lake in Burlington.  She had a view of Lake Ontario where she could watch the sun rise, the swans glide by, the boats dock at the pier, and storms blow across the water. She loved her aqua fit classes.  She was very proud of the fact that she needed a new swimsuit every six months.  Marion was a gifted pie & bread maker; seamstress; chorister; gardener; card player.

Predeceased by her husband Bruce in 1998, she is also predeceased by sons Neil 1966 and Ian 1972, grandson David Fletcher, sons-in-law David Hughes 2010, Roberto Liut, and John Fletcher.  She leaves her loving daughters Bonnie Fletcher, Margaret Liut, Laurie MacNab, Linda Ploen and son-in-law Terry. Marion’s legacy of incredible memories will live on in her grandchildren James (Elizabeth), Tony (Agnes), Kelly (Stu), Michael (Casey), Jeff, Tanya (Jon) and five great grandchildren.

Resting at the J Scott Early Funeral Home, 21 James St. Milton on Sunday, November 10, 2019. Visitation will take place from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, memorial service to follow then a reception.  Interment will be private the next day.  The family respectfully declines flowers and instead, asks for donations to Acclaim Health or Ronald McDonald House.

Fun to be with; fondly remembered
