Wanda, a resident of Birkdale Retirement Home, passed away at age 95 after a lengthy stay at Milton District Hospital battling lung disease. A proud naturalized Canadian, she earned her Registered Nursing Assistant (RNA) designation and worked for many years in Toronto hospitals. She will be remembered for her courage and strength to overcome many challenges in her long life. Wanda was a familiar face in her neighbourhood and to many other Milton residents. A very special thank you goes to everyone at Birkdale Retirement Home for the friendship, care and support extended to Wanda. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Chen and the nursing staff at Milton District Hospital for the care given during a very difficult time. Wanda was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, husband Fedir (Fred) and son Waldek Kaminski. She is survived by her dedicated and loving daughter Krystyna (Brock) Paterson. She will forever be a very special Nana to her grandchildren TJ (Keira), Andrew and Natalie Paterson. She also leaves behind loving grandchildren Aleksandra (Slav) Zurawski, Luke (Stephanie) Kaminski as well as five great-grandchildren. We will all miss her delicious cakes, jams, crepes and specialty Polish dishes. Family held a private visitation followed by cremation. A memorial service will be held at J Scott Early Funeral Home, 21 James St., Milton on Friday, December 6, 3:00 pm with a reception to follow.
