I knew Peter from the age of 7 when paired together for a Sunday School outing. Our friendship began from then, through cubs and scouts, although Pete left that to concentrate on the Army Cadet Corps, from where he developed his love of guns. We shared an interest in model airplanes. Our bedrooms smelled of cement and paint and were full of model planes. Pete excelled at this. We covered many miles on our bikes at weekends and on Summer evenings and in the 60’s bought motor bikes. We shared music, enjoyed all the pub games and the beer they supplied.
We maintained contact throughout the rest of his time in England and met whenever possible and in subsequent years through the internet. After retirement we shared many holidays together.
I shall, and already do, miss our almost daily exchanges of messages and emails. He was the master of the succinct, witty and wise one liner.
He was lucky to have his family so close and was so proud of his grandchildren, daughters and sons-in-law (who seemed to keep him supplied with top quality beer)
I am proud and privileged to have had Pete as the closest of friends. He was one of the good guys.

To the Family of Peter Durrant.
My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. I worked with Peter for many years at P&WC. We also played hockey after work at the Four Rinks in Mississauga. Peter was our goalie. He loved it. We had a good laugh together afterwards while downing a few pints in the bar. I'm very sad to read about Peter. Gone way too soon.
Sincerely, Don Forrest.

Really sorry to hear of the loss of your father Lorena. Our sincerest condolences go out to the entire Durrant family. I recall you often telling stories of your dad...it was obvious you had a great relationship and thought so very fondly of him. Continue to cherish those memories and share those stories so that future family generations will continue to appreciate this remarkable man. Hope you are coping well and look forward to seeing you soon.

I was very sad to hear of Pete's passing. I worked for and with him for many years at Pratt and Whitney, and respected him hugely. He was a good engineer, a good manager and many times steered my in the right direction. My thoughts go to Wendy, his daughters, grandchildren and all other family members.

My sincere condolences to Wendy & family. Peter was my supervisor at Pratt & Whitney Canada in 1984 when I was a young engineer and a new immigrant to Canada. He was a proper gentleman and a very fair and honest person who provided me with great guidance and mentorship for my life ahead. He will be sadly missed.
I wish you all the best during this sad phase of your life, Robert (Bob) Adamson.

One of my first memories of Mr. Durrant (based on my upbringing that was what I called him when I first met him) was going to the Beer Festival at the University of Guelph with Lorena and my Dad. Although I didn't (and still don't) drink beer we all hit it off. They were definitely all happy because I was the designated driver! There are many fond memories over the 20 years I've known Lorena with both Peter and Wendy... at weddings - Lorena's, Kharli's, my own, and then at christenings and birthdays. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. Rest in peace Mr. Durrant.

Peter was the closet Mary and I ever had to a brother. He was so good to our mother and allowed her to remain in her home for many years. Great guy, avid sportsman, and full of fun. Our hearts go out to Wendy, Clare,Lorena, and their families

Peter's care and kindness to our mother was something we will never forget. He provided her with the ability to stay in her home and a sounding board for many ideas.
We are deeply saddened to learn of is death. We will think of him always as someone full of life; hunting, fishing, grilling a steak and enjoying a glass of red wine.
