It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Leonard Fraser on Sunday December 6th, 2020 in Milton.
Lloyd was a man of immeasurable quality, held in high esteem by all those he met over the course of his life. He was devoted to his family and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, revelling in the sharing of memories and telling of stories. He was an avid card player, an unabashed fan of NASCAR, a hacker on the golf course but a pro in his armchair, and a lover of hockey. He is fondly remembered by family and friends for his selflessness, his kindness, his love of horses and all things cowboy, his passion for his children and grandchildren, and for his lifelong devotion to his wife Claire.
Married for 54 years, Lloyd was a loving husband, caring for Claire in the later years of his life as she battles Alzheimer's.
Lloyd leaves behind his wife Claire (nee Martin), his sons Troy (Karen) and Trevor (Doug), and his grandchildren Sarah and Brennan, and his step grandchildren Aidan and Avery.
Predeceased by his parents Murray and Veronika (nee Bertrand) Fraser, and by his sister Arlene Milward.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters Sharon (Bruno) Dominelli, Rena Fraser and Maya Godding, and by all his nieces and nephews.
The tributes and kind words pouring in from family, friends, work colleagues, former "kids" he coached, neighbors and people he met in his life are a testament to the life he lived and the lives he touched. He will be remembered for the kind soul that he was.
A celebration of life will be held in Sudbury in the spring or at a time when gatherings are allowed to resume. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
