Obituary of Olive Kathleen Smith

SMITH, Olive Kathleen (nee Finn) (1925 - 2021) Peacefully and in her 96th year, at the Wellington Terrace (Fergus, Ontario), on April 16, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Henry Jonathan (Harry) Smith. Loving mother of Richard and his wife Linda (Calgary), Nancy and her husband Leon Stickle (Elora) and Steven and his wife Patricia (London). Predeceased by her brothers Ernest, Jack and Ted Finn and her sisters Rhoda Pilkey and Greta Anderson. Olive will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Jayne Stickle, Christine Woodard, David Stickle, Julie Rowley, Terri Coenjarts, Kimberley Tecpoyotl Smith and Stacey Smith. Also remembered and missed by her great grandchildren Olivia and Ella Hahn, Mitchell and Ava Woodard, Paige, Grayson, Piper and Kenna Rowley, Anna and Brooke Coenjarts and James and Camille Tecpoyotl Smith. Having lived most of her life in Milton, Olive spent 6 memorable years at the “Heritage River Retirement Home” in Elora before moving to the “Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home” in Fergus in 2017. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of the Wellington Terrace for their outstanding care and compassion and most especially the staff on the Apple Valley neighborhood who brought our Mom great comfort during her final days. A private family service will be held at the J. Scott Early Funeral Home, 21 James Street, Milton, ON, L9T 2P3 on April 23, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. The service will be viewable online via Zoom. Please see the link details below. Interment at Milton Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grace Anglican Church Altar Guild, Milton District Hospital or the Milton Historical Society.
