Lily Eugenie (Tessier) Haviland
Lily Eugenie Haviland (Tessier), 95, of Milton, Ontario rejoined her loving husband, James Arthur Haviland, in Heaven on August 11, 2022. She was born to parents Antone and Lea May Tessier on April 17, 1927 in Elk Lake, Ontario. Her first and last birthdays were celebrated on Easter Sunday with family.
Loving mother of Donna (Michel) Laurin, Barb (Marinus) MacGillivray, Paul (Kathy) Haviland and Allan (Liane) Haviland.
Grandmother to Adam (Kelly) Faries, Jasmin Haviland, Bonnie (Wes) MacGillivray-Shaw, Shawn (Sue) MacGillivray, Robert (Chrissie) Haviland, Julie (Dwayne) Paquette, Simone Faucher, Celine Faucher, Matthieu (Sarah) Laurin, Melinda Laurin, Janelle Haviland and great-grandmother to more. Special aunt to Pauline (Bill) Carter. Lily is remembered by all of her families - Tessier and Haviland.
Lily was active with BoBeWilD Cub Scouts, life long member of the OES (Eastern Star), Elk Lake Golden Age Club, USCO, Women's Institute and UCW. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, bird watching, traveling, getting her toe nails done and a had a passion for helping others in the community. She will be remembered for her feisty attitude and community spirit. She performed many skits and loved travelling to celebrate family, friends and new adventures. Grandchildren will remember the baking and snacks. Children will continue to hear her words echoing in their heads; along with her mastery of April Fools pranks. Lily taught polkas and waltz with her husband at the dances, catered Christmas dinners for up to 100 people, and had many a PJ party for the kids. She was a big supporter at her church.
She lived in Elk Lake, Bealton, Waterford, Simcoe and Milton where she made many friends.
Many thanks to all of the Allendale staff, especially those who directly cared for Lily over the 13 years. Your care and love made such a difference.
The family has entrusted J. Scott Early Funeral Home with the arrangements. The Celebration of Life will be held there, 21 James St., Milton, Ontario (905) 878-2669 on Monday August 15, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.
